This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how HyperX uses them, the types of cookies we deploy, and how you can control your cookie preferences.

📅 Effective Date: January 1, 2025 🔄 Last Updated: April 24, 2025 📍 Version 1.0

1 What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website or use an application. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owners.

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies: Cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them
  • First-party cookies: Set directly by HyperX
  • Third-party cookies: Set by external services we use (e.g. analytics, support tools)

Similar technologies include web beacons (pixel tags), local storage, session storage, and device fingerprinting. This policy covers all such technologies collectively referred to as "cookies".

2 Why We Use Cookies

HyperX uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: To keep you logged in securely as you navigate the Platform
  • Security: To detect and prevent fraud, bot activity, and unauthorised access
  • Preferences: To remember your settings such as theme (dark/light mode), language, and display preferences
  • Performance: To understand how users interact with our Platform and identify areas for improvement
  • Analytics: To measure traffic, feature usage, and conversion rates
  • Support: To enable live chat functionality and track support interactions
  • Marketing: To show you relevant promotional content (only with your explicit consent)

7 Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have several options to manage cookies:

7.1 Cookie Preference Centre

You can update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Manage Cookies" in the footer of any page on our website. Changes take effect immediately.

7.2 Browser Settings

All major browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking all cookies will significantly affect website functionality.

7.3 Opt-Out Tools

8 Browser-Specific Instructions

To manage cookies in your specific browser, follow the instructions below:

BrowserInstructions
Google ChromeSettings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
Mozilla FirefoxOptions → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
SafariPreferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Microsoft EdgeSettings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
OperaSettings → Advanced → Privacy & Security → Site settings → Cookies

For mobile browsers, navigate to your device's browser settings to manage cookie preferences. iOS Safari users can manage cookies under Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security.

9 Mobile App Tracking

The HyperX mobile application uses similar tracking technologies including:

  • Mobile Analytics SDKs: To track app usage, crashes, and performance
  • Device Identifiers: Such as the Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) with your consent
  • Push Notification Tokens: To deliver notifications about your transactions and account activity

You can control mobile tracking through your device settings:

  • iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → toggle off per-app tracking
  • Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset or opt out of ad personalisation

10 Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing activity not be tracked. Currently, there is no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.

HyperX currently does not alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals. However, you can use our Cookie Preference Centre to opt out of non-essential tracking at any time, which achieves the same effect.
